It’s an old story hat seller and monkey that we read in class 3 obviously one could have the ability to remember the whole story indeed,
Here the ending
“The hat seller took his hat and threw it on the floor and monkeys did the same, and he finally managed to get all his hats back “
What’s the big deal in that story ah?
Instead of, a student in the Class 3 raised his hand and he asks why those monkeys are imitating the action of hat seller....?
Yeah it’s very hard to make him to understand why is it so..?
Let’s try
Simply i can say it because of so called “MIRROR NEURONS”
The basis for social behaviour, for our ability to imitate, acquires language, and show empathy and understanding. It also may have played a role in the evolution of speech.
when an animal acts and it simply watches the same action, they were thought to "mirror" movement, as though the observer itself were acting.
Language development in childhood also requires a mirror neurons of sorts between brain areas. To imitate the mother’s or father’s words, the child’s brain must transform auditory signals in the hearing centers of the brain’s temporal lobes into verbal output from the motor cortex. Whether mirror neurons are directly involved in this skill is not known, but clearly some analogous process must be going on. Interestingly, the original mirror neuron system brain region found in the monkey, is equivilant to the ‘language area’ in the human brain (also known as “Broca’s region”).
